I have a chance to get a brand new 08 mastiff with ghost flames, S&H exhaust, jetted, passenger set-up with seat, back rest, sissy bar, and shipped for 22500. Do you guys think this is a good deal?

A good price. Although it's 2 years old it's still new.....

Not a bad price. MSRP on this unit is about $28,900.00. That price is for the base model with 0 miles. You should pay between 15,000.00 to 20,000.00.

Here is the link so you can check for your self.

:iagree: If you are going to keep it a long time with no chance of selling, you might be OK. But if you sell after a year or two you are going to take a several thousand dollar hit, because it will be a 3 or 4 year old bike :zz2cents:

Is it a good investment? NO. Is it a good price for a new Mastiff? YES. But are you sure you have bargained down to the best price possible? It's a serious buyer's market!

I'd go brand new and try to come down some on the price. Is he being firm on that price of 24,500? Either one of these EFI? Send a link so we can see them...

IMO ! . . . either one seems to be a decent buy. Personally, I'd like to see the price on both of them be about $1k cheaper. Just remember, you're probably not through spending money once you get the bike, there'll be all kinds of stuff you'll probably want!

They're both new...Sounds like they want $2000.00 for the level 6 paint. Sounds like its up to you if you want to spend the extra $$$ for better paint job. my :zz2cents:

Well, to me they both look good and the prices are right. I think this being the buyers market, you should be able to come down some on the prices. I guess the main question is, do you want to pay more for the nice paint job? Is that a paint job you can live with? Specifically speaking on the 09 model. The ultimate choice is up to you, just my opinion.

Howie, you know I'm bit biased here since I have dealt with Cycle City and I think Duane is a great guy to deal with. You have to think about the "after the sale" part too and I know Duane stands behind his bikes. I bet those wild ass skulls will bring a ton of attention so you need to be prepared for that.

I have tried to get them to come down but that is as far they are going because of the upgrades and shipping they are doing. Ed I was thinking the same thing far as painting. 24500 is the best he can do for the 09 and 22000 for the 08!!!!

I'm just sayin', just because a dealer says it's a stage 6 or 600 paint job doesn't mean anything to me. It's no longer "custom" if it's been done hundreds of times. It there were a Bigdog-only bike show, you wouldn't stand out at all, because they did so many. I'm not knocking the paint job (or even who did it), hell I designed it.
I remember when I designed the "Burning Bens" (real fire with burning 100 bills), the sales team rejected it for two years. Stating it would not be a good seller. It became one of the most repeated paintjobs. For a while, that's all we did. I remember doing 3 burning bens in a row. Is it still "custom"?
