You are having everyone run out to their bikes and start it up to check

I will check it when I get home

After I re-built my topend I did a vid of the startup and you can see all the lights blinking on the ignition and EHC. Yes the ignition lit blinks when it's running.
Check it out at time-50 seconds:

I have a 2004 with a 2005 upgrade harnes and EHC. The bike has turned off on me several times while driving. The lights on the gauge are off and the speedo stays at the speed I was traveling at. I saw several posts that said to pull over and see what lights are on the EHC. Only the one's in the pic below were on and stayed on while the bike ran. Each time I turn the key off then restart it with no trouble. I've checked the ground cables, gas cap, put dielec grease in all of the connections last weekend and am ordering a new ign switch now.

Looks like that "red" fault light is your ignition.

I think Shovelhead has an ignition on eBay right now. I was looking at them yesterday/last night.

Thanks Ray. I guess my 1st post was not clear. I put "on the EHC" in the title but not my question on the post.

Thanks Ray. I guess my 1st post was not clear. I put "on the EHC" in the title but not my question on the post. So now with that cleared up does that mean my ign itself is going?
Well it means the EHC is sensing a fault. Could be just a weak connection somewhere. I would trace the ignition wires. I think in the tech section somewhere there is a thread on how to check this.

Mario, please post what you find with this issue. I have been plauged with a shut off issue for three months now. My bike (07K9LE) just electrically shuts off the ignition. Lights and all electronics are still on, and I checked my EHC and there were no fault indicators. I turned it over to a certified shop and it is whooping their ass. After $468.50 (included a new ignition module), the bike still does the same thing. Just shuts off. It has been at the shop for almost another month now (nearly 3 months total), they are trying some fucking software patch from corporate. This type if issue is killing me and making me wonder if I can really afford this bike after all. Please post what you find about yours, thanks.

Well, things just got worse. Took it out today and dies 5 times on the way home:bang::bang::bang:. I have done pretty much everything including hot wiring the ignition because I got sick of pulling over every .25 miles. So here is the list of what I have done:

Checked ground cables
Gas cap mod. Pulled the 2 plates and spring out of the bottom portion
Put dielec grease in all of the connections
Direct wired the ignition switch
The original EHC and harness have been upgraded to a 2005

There are no flashing lights on the EHC that should not be there. The ignition light on the EHC (blinking) and module should be on all the time. I have not had any problems with any other electrical part of the bike.

Ideas??? Anyone have a 2005 + EHC they want to sell?

Took a heat gun to the cam sensor last night. No problems there. Also, the bike fires right back up. All I have to do is turn the key off then start it back up.

So when you hot wired the ignition did that temp cure the issue in the sense that it did not die on you again? If not, would be looking close at fuel issue!

Sorry to hear of the run around. Do not want to beat up on the shop for I am not there, just always wonder why they charged you $468 and that did not fix the problem. To me if you are going to charge for a part, they better be sure that part is bad and was troubleshot, otherwise the shop is guessing and do the old part change until they hit the right combination.

Just one of those things that makes me pissed and give any owner bad vibes, when you have a supposidly qualified tech that tell you something is bad and order a new one and charges for it and then when changing such does not work, they say it is something else, but seldom do they give you credit for the new part since it was most likely not the problem.

Had some shop do similar on my wifes cars a few years ago and when the part change did not fix the problem, refused to pay for that part and had them replace it back with the original. The damn problem ended up being a simple sensor pick-up in tranny, that cost $20 plus about 15 min of labor and not the $850 plus labor that they were trying to get to change out a ECM module.

Good luck in getting it correct and hopefully the dealer will not rape you for parts changing as they learn to troubleshoot.

Insert title here...

Are there any other lights still on when the bike dies? Headlight, turn signals, brake lights, etc...
