Paint Protection Film

I know this has been covered before, but what is the final take on these films?

There are several manufacturers and lots of claims, but does anyone offer just a nice die cut piece for under the 2-up or pillon pad, or do I just get a piece and do my best with scissors?

I want to leave my 2-up seat on most of the time (you never know when some"body" wants to go for a ride):):):)

Has anyone just put more coats of clear coat on to allow for sanding/buffing?

I just got my rear fender re-painted this winter to get rid of the suction cup marks that I had. My painter did a great job of matching and he put three coats of clear on. I typically ride alone cause the old lady just isn't into riding anymore. Her loss my gain I'd say. Unless I decide to take on a rider, I plan on leaving the solo seat on and leave the protective film off too. I'll be interested in seeing how you make out though. Good luck. Hope it works out OK for you.

I have seen too many bikes going doen the road with the P-Pads flapping in the wind only stuck on with one suction cup to leave mine on all the time. Not worth loosing the damn thing. Buy a piece and trim it with a straight edge before installing it to the shape you want. The only way you'll find some for the Dog is to buy a complete kit. That is why I never went through with making the kits, no money in one piece here and there.

Make sure you put something down or marks like this will end up on your fender. I sure hope I can get this buffed out.

I went to my graphic's lady and she made a "custom" one---used the same film they use to make the vehicle wraps. Looks a hell of a lot better than some plain old plastic.:flag:
