I think I need a new battery. I keep it on the tender, but I really don't trust it when I am gone on a trip.
I was wondering if you guys had a suggestion for a good battery.
I have an 04 chopper with a 107.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HD AGM bat. Took my old BD bat in to the local HD dealer and they matched me up. Think it was $109

I have the HD battery and I also have the Battery Bug that Mad Dog sells. It shows you the voltage when the bike is off, running or on the tender. Re-assures me everytime I pull the seat knowing that it's got my 12.8 volts needed to start our bikes and after starting it will show 14+ reassuring me my VR is working.

I really appreciate the input.
The dealer says they will have some in by the weekend.
I'm ready to ride, the weather looks like it is going to be great here.
Again, thanks.

:iagree:hd battery,rated at 430 cca.yep 109 plus tax:cheers:
Do you have the part number for that battery?
I've got a K-9 (2008) and the battery is starting to go -- fine when it warm out when it cold it dies and can't crank the bike in the AM.

I'd love to get to 430CCA vs the 270 that's there now

Not all batteries are created equal; I recently put a Interstate in 07 K-9,its made for them by someone else I forget who at this moment. Its rated at 315 CCA. I brought home the Midtronics battery tester from work just to see what it really was. It tested at 485 CCA.This battery kicks butt. cranks over like no tomorrow.
Then On my 06-K-9 It has a new battery put in from a powersports dealer, non (BDM) Where I bought bike, was on consignment there.
Its a motobatt. The dealer says top notch battery we dont put cheap ones in here.
So I hooked up the Midtronics tester-its rated at 300 CCA and it tested at 300 CCA.And you can tell the difference it has a slight lag at first spin over.

Mike I'm having the same problem...Won't crank when it's cold (35-40 degrees) but good when its warm. I just put a new HD battery in. Just had it tested and they say its good. Let me know if you find any other issue.....

HD AGM has really worked well for me. It has a 2 year warranty on it and spins the motor very well.

I guess I'm just lucky. I still have the original battery in my 07 k9

I plan on changing it out this spring just to be on the safe side
