I've met some really nice people so far....All I can say is to own one of these pieces of shit is like "I do for better or worse, until death do us part". You just hang in there for some unknown reason.
LOL, I really do agree with the above parts of your statement...BUT I really must say when this BITCH is running right I LOVE IT!!!!!!!Just being able to cruz the roads on it gets me off!!!!

And yea Chacha, you hit the bulls eye on that one. when traveling and camping as I currently am, it is my MAJOR means of getting around, and I certainly was getting cabin fever (feeling like I was in jail) being stuck at the campgrounds...Besides after 6 days of being stuck there I was running out of VODKA,,,, oh yea and normal supplies....LOL!!!

All and all, I must say I love the bike, it's just frustration sometimes with the dealers...

I blame the manufacturer and stealers not my bike, the same way I blame my mother in law not my wife for being a moron!!

...Before 2500 miles It took me 7 trips to 2 different dealers along with several phone calls to stop my rear belt from squeaking.....
The sad thing is that was a service Matrix outlined for the 04 on the belt drive. Took me three trips to get the whole thing fixed (but they fired their Service Manager at the time as well)

Naahh Gas,
Tonya was talking about me calling her yesterday because my damn bike would not start again and I thought I was going to trailer it in to her shop....But I found the problem (broke wire) at the battery on the positive side, fixed that and all was well with the world again...

I love motorcycles and really love my BD. But I have used 3 different dealers here in GA and have been less than happy with all for different reasons and that goes for the HD dealers also. Heard some horror stories from them also. You would think that for what they charge for labor they could get some good mechanics. Now that my warranty is out I will be wrench'n on mine myself. Who knows when I retire in 4 years maybe I will go to MMI and start a new career. LOL, no seriously!

Damn , I love my bike.
I sure hope my faulty parts were replaced by the original owner.
Seems to run like a champ.

Hope it stays that way!

But how would I know what has been done?
The owners manual is blank.
but you can see some work was done.
Can I just call the original Dealer and ask them?

reading all these posts really scares me.
Ech posts scare me most.

Really depends on the dealer Mud. Mine didn't keep good records for my bike when I took it in for the kickstand and drive train matrix service initially. The owner decided to clean house on his Service Manager and some of the staff. I think they keep good records now.

Don't go too paranoid, Mud - the problems always get the most attention on this forum, because it's all about sharing solutions - but there are a lot of BD owners that run trouble free for years - and have great dealer service to back that up.

Mud, I know what you mean about the bad posts scares you. I did have a broken clutch cable but otherwise I've been trouble free. As for the records, I requested a service history from the HD dealer where I bought my bike and they had it in their computer. I hope I didn't jinx myself.

That sucks... and yours isn't the first that I have saw that happen to.

Mud... you can call BDM directly and give them your project number. They can tel you everything that has ever been done under warrenty and recall.

I hope I'm one of them. I have 2300 miles on mine so far and no problems.
A friend of mine bought a AIH chopper at the same time and has to choke his bike every time since has cooled off. I have yet to use mine. His rear brake makes all kinds of noise too.

I was at a HD dealer on Sunday and several employees came out to look at my bike. I was surprised how many compliments I received and was even told that BDM is the best if you're going to buy a chopper.

I love my bike but my dealer does give less than good customer service
