What years did BDM use Rolling Thunder frames on their bikes?

I picked up a rolling thunder frame and wanted to use a bdm rear fender, struts and sissy bar on it.

I need to know what years BDM used these frames, what dimensions - up, out and rake and on what bikes?

Will a Daytec frame oil tank that stands up in front of the swing arm work in a rolling thunder frame? I don't need an exact fit as I can weld new brackets. I just need to know if it will fit.

Will a seat from 05 chopper with a daytec frame fit a rolling thunder frame?

Thanks!!!

First tell us what frame you got! Is it RSD, LSD, 250, 300, chopper or prostreet. Iif you got the frame that excepts the oil bag under the seat or the one that used the rear fender style tank. Should be tabs on it already.
There was many options on the RT frame on BDM bikes. Single tank, dual tank, different oil bags and battery boxes.
So you should post a pic of your frame and we can probabaly tell you better what you have.

My 03 was an RT and so was my 05 but each was a totally different bike/frame and nothing will fit the other with LSD and RSD.
Oh, and struts are generic, just determine the width of the frame for the tire/fender size!

Chopper frame, LSD, 250 tire. I know the bike was built in 2005 but don't know the year of the frame. I like the idea of using the rear fender oil tank instead of the typical one under the seat. I also will be looking for another seat and like the bdm sissy bar struts. The fender on it now has hidden struts on the inside. Thanks.

Mario, I think you would be better off contacting RT and asking them. They have a pretty good website and offer many options on there frames. Send them the VIN# on the frame and they will probably tell you all you need to know.
Looks like a nice little project there.

Mario. If you have a Rolling Thunder frame you will see a maple leaf on the right side of the top motor mount.

Or you can check your Vin#. If it has a N in it then its a RT frame and if it has a T in it then its a DT frame.

That would work if it's a BDM frame but by the looks of it it is not. The DT's didn't have that type of top motor mount either.

BDM never used that type of tank mount or license plate bracket.

Best bet is still to contact RT and they can tell him all about it.

It's a rolling thunder, got the maple leaf on it. I called them and it should be compatible with 2003 - 2005 big dog choppers if they are RT frames. Now what I need is a front end, seat and handlebars. Maybe a gas tank too...

Thanks for your help!

Mario, if you're shopping for parts then I would only look at 03 & 04 parts. 05 the frame changed drastically to RSD, no center post, oil tank, side covers and other things.
