so i called s&s to see if i could give them the numbers off the motor and they tell me what it is. they said i have to open it up to see the crank and get the numbers off of that. they also said the 124 is a visiable larger motor but my pics look the same as the stock motor pics.

any mods out there let me change my name? cant have the 2032 in my name if that is not what i have, lol

My engine is stamped on the outside casing. I would think the company that made it would be able to tell you from those numbers?

Throw out those numbers, maybe someone here would know.

S&S is right they have no way of knowing what is in your bike as they didn`t build the motor they sold all the pieces to BigDog and they paid eight bucks an hour to some hassembly worker, but if you pull the timing plug read the serial number off the flywheel and call S&S they can tell you the stroke which would tell you the mptor size as the bore is the same in all the SSW plus motors or you can take out a spark plug stick a straw in the hole and messure stroke that way with a full rotation.

I have been where you are bought an Ironhorse that the guy claimed was a 124 so I did the straw test I was lucky he didn`t lie but alot of em do you, with yours being an 04 first thing is to determine which motor you haveas Big Dog never offered a 124 the option was 117 chances are it is a 107 judging by the pics does it have the crank position sensor by the oil filter and looking at the jugs it really looks like a Super Sidewinder

When you look at the end of the oil filter does it look like it has a plug with one bolt holding it in not the wiring going to the regulator though one other way is there a wire coming out of the cam cover

Chances are you have a 117. You have the chrome/polish package on the motor, which in 2004 was the 10th anniversary edition that came with the larger 117 motor. Does your coil cover say "117" on it? Not sure why the previous owner put that 124 cover over the timing pickup.

Last year I called S&S and gave them the numbers off my case and they were able to tell me exactly what I had. Right down to dates that they sent the parts to BDM for assembly.
