Hey guys does any one know wear i can get my starter beef up the stock starter just can't take the motor just fries it.Beagle Man

Or follow the other thread on compression releases and wire them to your starter that way they will stay energized longer.
Keep your battery strong by keeping it on a tender. Performance comes at a cost! Not many options for RSD (Baker) style starters available yet.

underlying issue is the jacked up compression and 127 hp., might get a little easier after breaking the motor in again.

in the same boat but my starter spins no problem. took it to a local alternator shop and he beefed it up for 100 bucks.

First, check to make positively sure that your compression reliefs are working correctly.
Disconnect the little green to the starter (Trigger Wire). Turn on key, push run, then push start. You should hear a clicking sound. Place your fingers on the round rubber bubbles in the center of you valve coves to ensure that you're feeling them move. If they are, then reconnect the little green wire on the starter.
NOTE: I manually push mine down to ensure that my comp. reliefs are engaged every time before I start mine.
Second, load test your battery. You do have the option of upgrading to the Braille battery, with more CCAs for a little more money. Many here have chosen to go this route.
Third, Like Marv said, take your starter to a starter alternator shop and have it upgraded. But remember, this upgrade will only give you a little bit more torque from the starter.

Hey Dude thanks for the help.The compression reliefs are working,the battery was tested ok.With the work done on the motor i have 230 lbs torque that that starter has to turn to start that motor.I will try to get mine beefed up or i will go with a Tech cycle 2.0kwt the stock are 1.5.Nick
Unless they downgraded for the 09's your starter is already a 2.0kW with 2.4 max kW. Here is the tech sheet you get with each starter from BDM.

Could it be the cam? I hear hot cams are a bitch to start in cold weather. I was just talking to an outfit today in Philly that can rewind and upgrade starters. I'll give you a call tomorrow. Also a bunch of us are skipping out on work Monday and riding, as long as it doesn't rain, gonna head up near New Hope. Marv if you can get away from work lemme know.
