I sent in a post a few months ago about my 04 Mastiff head light flashing or not even coming on at all on low beam. We have some characters out there for sure. Got some funny remarks, awesome. Anyway, the guy from bikers dreams said something about head light plug might be bad?? Would this problem be contributed to a low battery??? I think my battery is weak because we had some cold nights (30's) and my bike wouldn't start. Any constructive help is appreciated. Alot of people bitchin about an intro, WTF is that anyway???:job:

dirwood, your last post on this subject was on Oct 30 last year.

In your last post it was recommended to check your headlight socket. Did you inspect this socket?

Lots of posts here on headlight issues like you are having so do a search and read up some.

Look under the "Forums" section, and you'll see the "Introduction" section at the top. Do an "Intro" to introduce yourself to the others around here. :2thumbs:

Always start with the battery "first", no matter what. :2thumbs:
If your batt. is weak, have it load tested. If it test weak, then replace. Otherwise re-charge and see if the headlight reacts in the same manner.
If so, then we can go from there. :2thumbs:

dead

WTF is that anyway???

The Intro is a biker thing they do out of respect for other bikers on this forum.

Glad you asked (also sent to you via PM when you signed on in Oct). Here it is and we look foward to welcoming you to this forum:

What is an Intro?

NEVER TOO LATE FOR AN INTRODUCTION!

We always appreciate an Intro, especially when it includes:
Who you are
Are you a Family
Where you are from
What you do
What you ride currently (does not have to be a BDM), or even if you do not own a scoot at the moment, all intros are more than welcomed.
pics of the scoot (scoots), pics of you riding the bike
how long have you been riding
what else have you rode
anything else you wish to include

The more you share with us, the better the welcome will be (and we love the Intro comments and corresponding pics)

This forum is for all of us, so the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.

If you are not sure how to accomplish this mission, just ask.

The SEARCH feature on the toolbar above should become your best friend as your question has probably been answered several times. If not, then ask.

Man, we are looking forward to seeing pics of your scoot.

A lot of issues can be traced back to the Battery. Make sure it passes a load test and above all, keep it on a tender.

See Ya:cheers:

This is a community like any other, and some guys are nuts about introductions, so just do it and get it over with. There is an unbelievable wealth of information and talent here, so don't let the ball busting put you off, this forum has saved me thousands over the years.

For your headlight, your post is pretty vague. Check the easy stuff first, change the bulb, charge the battery, check the plug inside the bucket. Does it flash when the bike is running, or do you randomly lose your headlight while riding down the road? If you lose it while riding, if you cycle your key, does it come back on? This could indicate an EHC issue. You don't have a relay in an '04, the EHC does the switching. Let us know.

My 03 headlight was not working on low beam, then came on intermidatly. My plug behind the headlight in the basket was melted at the ground connector. So after you make sure your battery is good, look at that plug. I bought one at the HD dealer, exsisting connectors would not fit, so had to use some butt connectors to wire it up.

Good Luck,
Roedog
