Filters:Foam vs. Pleated

OK boys, whats the opinion on foam or pleated filters?

Obviously a paper pleated filter isnt as good as some brands of washable gauze filters. I am not convinced that a K+N is better than foam. I say that based on some dyno numbers related to a 4 cylinder Sportbike I had. Of course the filters are completely different shape than what Big Twins will use.

That being said, can a UNI foam filter be as good (flow wise) or better than a pleated filter.

Yeah, here's another one where Wimmer uses a stock HD filter (paper I imagine) and a HD SE (I don't know what material it is!) against all there filters and aircleaners.

Next question... what about surface area of the filter?

Better to have a large filter vs. a smaller?

Opinions on this filter? 1" X 25" circumference.
