We put a new battery on it and it still does the same thing

Dad hasn't been on here since Monday, been in the hospital. He's a "NEW" daddy again, had little girl last night at 8:10, 7.5 lbs, 20.5 inches

That big fat one is your brake switch wire for the brake lever. I would still check the voltage of my battery and have it load tested. Your lights are a low voltage warning.
Well I also found that the green wire in the plug looked like it might be barely pulled out. So I also pushed it back into the plug with needle nose.

One of those fixes solved my problem. Rode it today and it fired up fine with no horn or flashers.

I just wonder if the electrical system has any sort of ground or short it will cause this symptom?

Does your EHC have any "red" lights lit up? These are ground fault lights. There is a list of them in the How To section here.

Green wire in the "EHC D connector plug", or what?

If it was, then it needs to be carefully re-soldered with a "Soldering Iron", NOT A SOLDERING GUN, that's way too much heat being applied and the plug will melt. Then you'll have BIG PROBLEMS.

Ask around and see if you can find an electrical technician or engineer that has experience at soldering those types of connectors. Even try computer store technicians and car audio technicians in the area, and see if they can help you out.

Good Luck! :2thumbs:

dead

It was the green wire in my handlebar switch casing.

Thanks for all the info guys.

I don't think my dad had any problems with the bike cause he rarely washed it with water. Before I knew any better I sprayed that thing down several times.

I guess cause it's new to me I've been riding it like it's new. I need to be studying my manual.

I was riding today, buy the way with this weather we are having that is a lucky thing. And back to the matter at hand I was going down the road and the motor quites, just after the horn beeps and the flashers start flashing. It stays on a battery tender and the battery is not a year old. It's a 310 battery. It done this about 6 or 7 times today in about a 60 mile ride. When it does this you can turn the key off and it will start right back up but who knows for how long. I know it is going to strand me some where before long if I don't get it fixed. Any suggestions appreciated.
Go back and check the wires for good solid crimps on all the ring-tounge connectors at the battery posts. Poor crimps causes the EHC to drop out due to low current supply. Weird stuff happens when the wires are loose in the crimps.
