Anniversary Edition

What do you guys think about the anniversary edition Big Dogs? I'm talking about the ones with the 15s in the stripes running along the tank and fenders. They also have a 15 year emblem painted on the top of the tanks. I like that they are all chromed out and have different wheels.

Also...you can have all that crap sanded off and have Airbrush Ed really put a nice paint job on it...and have a bike with different wheels and chromed out. (Just saying since you asked):)

There is one on ebay from the now closed Rochester Thunder. It's the blue and silver paint. I think it's around $29450. Might be a good deal. ?

Did they just do 15 K9's? Or 15 of each model? Anybody know?
This is what I got from Big Dog when I inquired about mine:
---------------------------------------------------------
"Here is the breakdown on numbers built by model for the 15th Anniversary bikes:
* "New" Bulldog - 15 built
* Wolf - 10 built
* K9 - 15 built; three color patterns as we talked about previously- 5 in red/black; 5 in blue/black; 5 in black/. The K9 was the only 15th Anniversary model built in colors besides the Candy Red & Black two-tone.
* Mastiff - 5 built
* Coyote - 1 built that was special ordered by a dealer when we announced the Anniversary bikes.

No Anniversary models built in the Ridgeback or the Pitbull. We intentionally kept build numbers low on all the Anniversary models."

YES, considering retail was over $35K :whoop:, AND considering it was 1 of only 5 built in THAT color combo (see above correspondence from Big Dog). Compare this to when my wife and I had our 100yr. Anniversary Harley CVO's - they made over 3,000 of my Roadking and nearly 3,000 of her Deuce in the Anniv CVO color combo!

It's kinda funny, BDM builds all their custom painted bikes so that each one is the only one like it for that year, no two alike.

They come out with these Anniversary Edition bikes, build multi copies of each paint job, and charge more for them! Funny!

I think BDM should do 5 of each paint scheme, but change each one up just enough to tell them apart and keep them different from one another and still number them as anniversary Editions.

I wouldn't pay extra for an anniversary model if I know there are other bikes out there identical to it just with a different number on it! Isn't that what a VIN# is for. My bike is number 218 and there is not another one painted like it! :)

Just my 2 pennies!

What about the silver and black? We have one like that at Iron Lightning and I think it might be my favorite? Wonder why that wasn't mentioned.

Here are pics of the other two K9 Anniv color combos which BDM sent me. You're right in that the third color combo is black/silver (my typo).

Here's is a K-9. Bike number 1
Is it the lighting, or is there some "gold" color in the "15's"? If it's in the paint, it's a nice touch and I like it!:up: I wonder if BDM just did that on the #1 bike in each series? The reasom I ask is that my Anniv K9 is #5 and it doesn't have any gold in the paint.:loony: Just curious...:rolleyes:
