need some advise/info guys . 1st , i have VH 2 into 2 pipes , S&S extended filter set up . 31/76 jets .
I've completed the How to carb adjustment thread ( by gasman) several times . ( great info) . The carb sometimes snizz from the carb . I cant get the crisp throttle response when I rip the throttle at idle, I get a short hesitation . Also I get a delay around 2500-3000 rpms when I get down on the bike . Bike runs good up top but not off idle without quick jabs on the throttle . Seem to notice alot of stumbles down low up to 3000 . bike also popps during declaration sometimes . Need some advise guys. make small adjustments, then ride, I found out that riding with a small screw driver works best, @ every convient stop make a small adjustment, till you get it dialed in..

Test for intake leak with a can of shop solve.
-Start bike and let idle
-Spray from the right side of bike( air filter side)
- making sure you are not directing the spray into the air filter, direct it into the front and rear intake seals, one cyl. head at a time.
-notice any change in idle speed, drop or increase, that is usually a symptom of an intake leak, replace intake seals.
-Also check to make sure the nipple on top of your intake manifold still has the rubber plug, if so make sure it is not all dry rotted, if it is replace it with a new one.

Also already noted, check your accelerator pump, take your air filter off and look inside the bore of your carb. While looking at the nozzle, twist your throttle fast, does the nozzle spray fuel out in a nice misty fan pattern? if it does not, just kind of pisses out you may have to remove your carb float bowl and check to make sure the pump nozzle is not plugged up, this can be common with dirty fuel. I take a .005" feeler gauge blade and carefully pass it threw the slit in the nozzle. After doing this you may have to take your pump apart in order to force pressurized air threw the nozzle.
*** Note*** be careful when you remove your pump, there are a few small pieces inside, small spring and 2 small steel balls, take note on how they are placed inside, you will need to install them the same way.
-After you put your carb back together, if your pump still is not working correctly then you probably need to install a new accelerator pump kit from BDM or S&S.
-Good luck and let us know what you find.

Make sure your idle is not to low. I had the same problem when I tried to get on it would hesitate for a second then go like hell. Idle was set at 750-800 reset the idle at 1050made a big difference on mine. :D

work on carb adjustments pretty all day . Bike runs good from 3000rpm's thru mid range and good up top . Cant get them stumble out the carb when I jab the throttle off idle . I have to atleast bring rmp up to 1500 and then jab the throttle to get a crisp throttle response . Ive adjusted the accel pump every which way  with no luck so far . again I have 31/76 . I did spray brake cleaner on to the intake point and did notice a change in bike sound/idle RPM , I did not notice any wet dirt build up around the intake points . Also no that I need to change the plugs ( 8400 miles on them, bought plugs but were given the wrong ones by BDM-dealer ) Thankful for any info you guys may have .

I would go back to stock jetting 74 main and 29.5 pilot for starters.
You say "you did notice a change in bike sound/idle RPM"?
If YES, you did notice a change then you have an intake leak.
Need to get yourself some new intake seals.
PM me if you want.

possible crack in intake gaskets.. as bigdogtech01 said,, is air filter clean? just asking, you are running the air filter when this is done right

Are you running baffles in your V&H pipes,if not, according to S&S,that would probably be your problem.
S&S carbs ARE exhaust sensitive.Try some back pressure. You might find the solution there.
I do a ton of those carbs, and between timing, exhaust, and a/cleaner,can usually overcome any problem.
John:)
