Reddog, mine was replaced back in 07 after I moved up here. Warranty covered the pulley but I had to pay for the belt. I had around 38,000 then if I remember right and it squeled real bad. All the teflon was worn out.

My next one will be the Supermax option which will last forever.

I asked this same question a few weeks back. My pulley had just over 16K on it and they said it need replaced too... squeeking now! Warranty claim was denied!! (I'm dieing to know how Ray got the warranty claim on his). Called BD up myself and they said it was "a normal wear item not covered, like brake pads and rotors". I told them that a pulley every 16K was ridiculous, then they said that by the pictures they saw of my pulley, it looks like something got stuck up in it. I told them the truth... NOTHING has ever been stuck in my pulley (except rain drops), I never ride on gravel or dirt roads, never ride on the beach... the man just said, his wore out and he had less miles than me.

I now have over 18K miles on it and just keep wondering how long til the pulley is dead... oh, my bike turns 1year old in 2 days (so that means I'll go through pulley a year???)

Another round please
Squeaking does not mean it has to be replaced. Stuff does wear out though. Thats part of owning a bike. Supermax will be my one and only pully I will ever buy when the time comes.

Pulley #1 is a new round tooth on a new pulley; pulley #2 is a square tooth with 10k+ miles on it. When the teeth become square the belt rides on top of the square causing noise between the teeth AKA as an echo. When accelerating fast the square edge digs into the belt cutting the belt to shreds. Same also with trans braking. This is an issue that should not be over looked. Repair it before your stranded on the side of the road with a broken belt. :2thumbs:

It’s a one-way ticket. Cost a little more now. But its the last one you’ll ever buy. We have used Phil (supermax)for years now. Great product:2thumbs:, Great Guy:2thumbs:! Just tell Phil what HP your gona throw at it and he’ll install the proper amount of pins into the pulley. We have a 130+HP bike on the drag strip that cant hurt it!
