Battery tender

Ok fellas I have a question for you travelers. What do you do about your battery when it can not be connect to a tender.

Here is my problem, I have alway had a place to store my dog either close to plug in or in a garage. Well the new place I am renting for work has me in a small apartment with no outside recepticals to plug my mc trailer in. So any suggestions on how to keep my battery charged other than taking it out after every ride and hooking it up inside?

The complex is allowing me to leave my trailer there but I have to park it across the lot from my unit, so no extension cords can be run across the lot.

Anyone have a quick disconect for their battery that will not short out or arc while in use but allow for ease of removal? I looked at a couple but scared they will short out and fry my electrical or cause low voltage etc....

I know some of you guys just bring a small one with you to plug in but my issue is the plugging in part.

Should I just plan on removing the battery and bringing it inside all the time?

How about a solar charger. Mount on the roof of the trailer and run the wires inside the trailer. Just thinking outside the box

I had a solar panel I kept on the dash of my RX-7 Race car.

It kept the battery charged during the winter.

I think I paid $50 for it at vato zone.

I have a 1000W power converter for 12 volt to 110 power. When i was in Sturgis i hooked up the converter to my truck battery and plugged in the low amp battery charger i have to the Bigdog battery. Took about an hour to bring the battery back to full charge.

If there's no place to plug in, I don't see that you have any choice, but to remove the battery and charge it inside every time. Sorry!

Not a bad Idea but I am looking for something to "leave it and forget it" until the next ride. Plus my truck moves daily

I like this! Only problem is you have to live in an area where you get plenty of sun...like Las Vegas! Heck, I might consider this as a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative! :2thumbs:

I think some of the 12V portable battery packs for jumping cars have a 110 inverter on them. Get one of those, plug in the tender and maybe once a week recharge the pack inside the house.

The solar charger sounds like the way to go. I use one on the boat and it helps!!!!
