That's pretty funny Ray. I burned through a pair of jeans once myself. So, I took the chrome heat shields off, put exhaust tape on the pipes, and then put the heat shields back on. I haven't burned through another set of pants as of yet. Hope it helps you man.

Ray, glad you are OK. Jokes aside and on a serious note, that is not what any of us want to hear. Doesn't seem the norm. Didn't you do some head work recently? If so, would not be a bad idea to do a once over....you never know.

(I have seen my exhaust turn RED hot and actually GLOW, like someone just pulled them from a furnace - scarey :angry:) Like you changed pipes and adjusted carb - runs MUCH cooler now....

Good luck - ride safe and cool.

Damn Brother Ray!

1st it's "Streaking"!

Now you're catching yourself on "Fire"!

What's next?

If I didn't know any better, I'd say there must be some kind of an "Attention Deficit Disorder" going on here.

I agree with Staffy. You should check the tune on the bike. Thoses pipes are way hotter than they should be.

I had a pickup a few years ago. The headers would turn bright orange. You cold watch the excess fuel going down the tubes as it cooled the pipes in spots. My ignition box was screwed up so the timing was way off.
