Man I had a bad day at work and got off went to start my pitbull and the starter died. Does anyone know where to get a really good one from the one I got from the big dog down in jax only lasted 7m

First check Battery with a "load test". Auto Zone, Advance can do this for you. If it checks good, then.....

read this if it just "clicks":

i agree with you Blackball,i got mine back from warranty and the very next mornin it just clicked,i took it apart and everything in there is brand new it looks like, all bronze and shiny and pretty lookin yet at will the thing just wants to click,it sucks when i am somewhere that i dont or cant find something to tap the starter with,so after goin away for the weekend and it happening alot i am lookin to buy one of them starter plunger buttons directly mounted to the side of the starter so if it decides to click again i just manually hit the plunger..........

I pulled the primary off and the starter is not turning over and it is getting stuck out . The battery is only one month old but I just took it off and had it tested and it fine.

I am sorry i am at my buddys house and posted as him and not me

Check the solenoid, it could be hanging up!

I just went through this, this weekend. The starter has a 12V trigger on the top of it. This signal energizes the coil and the magnet pulls in the starter contacts.

On mine, which seems to be a common problem, one of the wires had broken, so no power was getting to the solenoid.

Take the cover off from the solenoid, and look at the wires that come from the 12V signal on top of the solenoid (very small wires). Make certain they are perfect. If so, leave the ignition off and push the plunger assembly in with a screwdriver and see if the starter turns over.

If the starter is getting stuck, there is a snap ring inside that seems to not seat unless the starter is reinstalled perfectly. Make sure it is seated on the Primary side of the bike inside of the collar.
