Question about my Brake Lights

I took the dog out for a new inspection sticker. Everything went good until the brake light check.
I reached up and pulled in my front brake lever. Nothing happened. The kid doing my inspection looked real quick at me like...I gotcha now! So i reached down and mashed my rear brake. The lights came on and i looked at him like...no ya don't!
Well he had to lay a sticker on it and I drove off. My mind started to work as I drove away. i started thinking well my back brake works and so does the lights...so thats a good thing. My front brakes work but the lights don't....hmmmmmm. Well this could be good and bad.
Do any of you experts know where and how the adjustments work? I think it may have something to do with the little metal plug lookin thing that went in my handlebar when i changed out my start/run switch due to water damage. It had a tiny allen wrench that was needed to secure it. I must have it too far in or something. Anybody here got experience with the brake lights from the hand lever?

I am not an expert, but you are on the right track. :D It has to do with the adjustment of that magnatic little thingy inside you hand control. I just adjusted mine last night, make the adjustment to where the light comes on at about a 1/2 inch pull or so. Also adjust it and try it out before you button up the whole thing. :2thumbs:

Check to see if the little magnet is still there. When I put my Cruise-Mate on apparently I managed to break off the little magnet that activates the little switch. I ended up going to Home Depot and buying a pack of magnets and after a little shaping I was able to glue it in place.

I don't think mine is gone. I'll find out when Iget in there.

What did you do with the wire that went to it? Mine has a wire going to it from the hand board.

Boo, thats kind of what i was thinkin it was but wasn't sure. I think when i did my hand board that I stuffed it in there too far. I know one thing for sure...I couldn't figure out what it was for.

There is a black wire that is attached to board and that black wire has a sensor or magnet at the end. That goes in the hole (the one with no hair) above the lever and it is held in place by a tiny allen screw. Stick that in far enough (don't make her cry) so that you can see it in the area where the lever goes. Leave some space between that and the little magnet that is attached to the lever it self. That is the magnet that McLovin is talking about. If that is missing the brake light will not work at the lever. When you button it up make sure you don't pinch the black wire.
