Speedometer error code

I have the correct wires. I checked continuity at every connection all the way down to the ignition control then to the crankshaft sensor. The speedo problem was from getting caught in the rain and water got inside. I fixed it, it had switched from mph to klm. I checked the solder joints on the back of the Tach as well and they looked good. I wonder if there is some kind of test I could do to figure out if it is the Tach or the crankshaft sensor.

Did you go through all of Night Trains tips. I'm sure he had a test for about everything in his tech thread.

As for the crank sensor I would ask if your motor is running then the CS is working wouldn't you think. Besides I think the tach info comes from the "ignition module". Anyway if your tach board is broken or burned up then you are going to need a new one. It's a one piece "circle" piece. Does anything work on it? signals, oil pressure, hi beam?

Here is the wiring schematic. Hard to read but if you pm me your email I will send it to you in large format where you can read it easier but it's 3mb.

I just had mine replaced a couple of weeks ago on my 07 Chopper, it pegged out on me and the trip meter and odometer would rack up 100 miles for every mile ridden. When it started I had 2850 miles on it by te time Tampa Big Dog got a new speedo it had registered of 10000 miles even though I had only rode it about 100. Tried to diconnect the battery and reset the module to no avail so Big Dog installed a new one under warranty. What a pain in the ass $50.00 in fuel and all day venture to take the bike to the dealer.....

Does disconnecting the battery reset the speedo module? I have a similar issue. My odometer/trip meter registers twice the milage that I drive. :bang: I already have the battery disconnected for some work being done, so I'll know soon enough.

Refer to post #20. You probably have it on Klm instead of Miles.

Everything works on my speedo including the oil, high beam, and turn signals. I'm not sure what is wrong with it.
