i read in here somewhere that some people have had the coating inside the gas tank was peeling up and giving problems to the carb. BDM is going to fix . Just wondering if BDM is going to send a new tank or repair my tank..

From what I have read on here, the few that had to have their tanks liner repaired it was done to their tank. I don't think BDM is going to send you a new tank. Anything is possible but I think they will just repair yours.

What year is yours? I noticed last fill up I had a hanger....a piece I pulled out with my fingers, green....:bang:

My wife's 03 Mastiff had the liner (green) separtate. It was more than just a few pieces and some were large enough to plug the petcock filter. I ended up buying Caswell tank liner and re-lined the tank myself. It wasn't too hard. It's a clear resin/hardener similar to fiberglass resin. Clean out the old liner from the tank by pulling as much as you can, then placing screws inside the tank with acetone to break up any remaining liner, mix up the Caswell epoxy resin, pour it in and swirl it around until it hardens. It's formulated for the ethenol gas that is sold now. Do yourself a favor and re-line ASAP. No more crap floating around, no more rust forming and getting into the carb.

Hey, while you are at Lowe's picking up some chrome cleaner, they have a flexible shaft about 3 ft long that has a grabber on the end of it. The end you hold has a plunger and when you push it, 4 small "fingers" of wire open and expand. Place it near what you want to extract and when you let go of the plunger, the fingers contract and will grab anything that is close. The liner is mostly flexible and can be pulled through without having to break it. Some pieces had to be broken. I just used a pair of needle nose pliers and grabbed the piece and pulled till it broke, then grabbed the rest. I'll post a "how to" this weekend on re-lining your tank. I took all the pics but just haven't put it all together. Stay tuned for more!!!
