CA. is not going to fall off into the ocean, actually it is slowing slipping south where one day it will be in Mexico and all the illegals will be back home.

So how is that whole "hopey, changey" thing working out for ya. Maybe they could apply for a bail out. Seriously, sorry to hear this its tough losing income and I hope they get back on the feet soon, in spite of "the change".

and besides, kali is gonna fall in the ocean in a couple years!:eek:
From your lips to Gods ears... I wouldn't count on it though, I've been waiting for years for that to happen with no luck. I just hope if it does happen I'll have enough forewarning to get back home to Texas.

As far as labor rates in Malibu are concerned though, he would have no problem getting all the cheap labor he wants there compared to KS. As a model he could use the Corbin seat factory... Mike Corbin has probably 200 employees there and his total weekly labor cost is probably around 4 or 5 bucks.

On a totally serious devils advocate note (and without starting a political war)...wasnt the economy pretty much at its worst over a yr ago? I really think congress, senate and the people that REALLY run this country are making this worse and worse...it had to start somewhere and on someones watch...and whether you like it or not, it wasnt Obama's. Hes stuck with his "ideas" on how to fix it, but he didnt make it this way.

Come on Diesel

When people keep tellin the general public for two years during the election cycle the economy is crap then people finally start believin it. They stop spending money, then businesses start layin off 'cause no ones buying their stuff. Those laid off folks can't spend either so it spirals out of control. Even if the whole Richard Gere and the gerbil thing didn't happen after people hear it enough it becomes real. So goes the economy, it was a self fulfilling proficy the dems wanted it and now they don't know how to get out of it. Check your facts for most businesses '07 was a great year. Sorry for highjacking the thread just had to vent a little. That's just my opinion ain't throwin' stones at ya just have a different way of lookin at it. Lets just ride......

Without getting into politics and derailing this thread too much more then it already is... All we saw in my house during the last administration was several raises, at least two promotions, and several larger then expected bonuses as well as a few nice surprise tax rebates / incentives. It wasn't until this year that companies we do business with and companies that do business with my wife's company have really hit their lowest points or folded and started impacting us directly. Obviously not everyone has been fortunate enough to experience things this way but from my perspective things are drastically worse off now with nothing but signs that it will continue to get worse.

The bottom line is, the people (person) hired to fix the problems actually benefits (stays in office) if things stay bad so to trust him to improve things in the long run is pretty naive quite honestly.

By the way, if you have two children that are misbehaving and the second one says "but HE started it!" does it make things any better?

I wish I had more money.
That is 200000000000000! That is a two with fourteen zeros! That is a chink. There is no way in hell that would ever happen. EVER! I like the idea but.:job:

How about this economic solution:

This is from an article in the St.. Petersburg Times
Newspaper a few Sundays ago.

The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix
the Economy?"

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy.

Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the
money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following
plan. You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. - Pay
them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the
following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire.. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR or motorcycle. Forty million cars/bikes ordered - Auto / Motorcycle Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing
Crisis fixed..

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in
Congress and their constituents pay their
taxes...

The economy is really slow in the NE and SE of the US. It has almost stopped. So, in major recession BD launched two bikes which cost more than a person making $200K per year can afford. Wolf and Bagger

I really do not see any signs the economy has even bottomed out yet. In my Industry, 95% of the customer are not even considering building something new, just remodleing the current stores. Even when the payback is less than 1 year, they will not spend the money.

I love the Obama comments..

TRUE COLORS COLLISION
heres my 2 cents, financially i do ok for a medium income single guy..lets say 70k...my credit is not good because of bad decisions i made when i was younger,no matter what i do to try straightening it out it allways returns to shit cause i am a JR and my parents stuff allways ends up on my report and it looks like i pay 2 morgages, and have 70k comin in and 200k going out....but with all that said because of the corrupt banking system i was given a $25,000 loan for a big dog motorcycle...well now the economy has slowed down, the corrupt banking system has been caught up in there own schemes and have to chill for awhile till they conjure up new way to fuck the common man......and as throttle above has says ...with all this goin on big dog comes out with new bikes that are ridiculously priced and cant be afforded by the common man....on top of all this and yes i am gonna say it....i understand in the beginning big dog having issues with these bikes in the electrical department but it has been years that we are having the same issues with the same shit ongoingly with these high priced bikes.....true that 10 years of electrical nightmares....sooner or later word gets out and people just wanna ride.they dont want their destination to be their local mechanic so when money is tight you think they are gonna spend it on a somewhat undependable overpriced big dog motorcycle???????and before you haters start jumpin down my ass let it be known how i love my bike ...when it is running correctly...when its not i am paying a big payment every month for it to be sitting in the shop.......they plain ole aint lending money out no more like they used to so lots of companies that used to really prosper cause of this will take a huge hit cause it aint like everyone has $30,000 under their mattress to go out and buy a big dog motorcycle......so i think the hayday of bigdog motorcycle companys days have passed and unless the company stays small well it just wont survive....so they have to downsize at a considerable rate...18 months ago i had 11 guys workin for me ,today it is 4..............
