What are the numbers that flash on the odometer when you first turn the key on. it only last about a second and then it goes to the miles on the odometer. if you push the reset, you see the trip indicator.

Here' the sequence of events on a '07 K-9 when you turn the key on...

1. Needle goes from 0 to 50-60 and back to 0 (unless you turn it off then immediately back on, then it goes below 0 and back up to 0.)
2. Odometer window displays the pulse count set for the speedometer for 3 seconds, ~49440.
3. Odometer window displays the hours the bike has been turned on for 3 seconds.
4. Odometer window displays either total miles or "trip mode" depending on what was up when it was turned off.

The guy I bought my K-9 from (and apparently the State of Arizona!) didn't know this and when I got the title for my bike it said the bike had 49,440 miles on it!!! :loony:
