OK, going to throw this question to the experts of this fine board.will be soon picking up a k-9 from bd tampa if things go as expected. I was reading the posts about the baker belt primary systems & the cost lay out for one.now spoke with mike at bd tampa he says the 2.25" belt drive with obs is $2995.00 installed w/ labor.I was reading some of you all have baker with a 3" belt,do you or have you had problems with scraping making lh turns?the 2.25" kit seems like looking at at navy belt on a fat sailor to me .what's your opinion? could I go with a 3" and still be ok? or
First of all the Baker Open Primary Belt Drive is 2.4" not 2.25" an you mentioned here, every in counts or at least that is what she said :lol:
Problems, none for me and I have had mine for over 2 years now.
As for the 2.25 belt looking like a Navy Belt on a Fat Sailor, I can't help you with that. Maybe you should tell your sailor friend not to eat so much or to take a shit once a week and that Navy Belt won't look so Bad on him.:roll:
Here is what Baker has for BDM, visit their site and get the info 1st hand.
Stainless steel pulleys provide added durability.
Comes with a 2.4" wide belt, with 14mm tooth profile for added strength vs. the average competitors size of 8mm.
Outer bearing support ties the crank shaft and main shaft together and to the inner motor plate for three times the stability.
Belt is made with a proprietary profile for a contour that provides full tooth contact.
Included with BAKER’s dependable 5 year warranty
Hope that helps
Carlos
