Wire v Blade

When you are gapping your plugs or points (what are those? ) do you prefer a wire gauge or the feeler blades and why?

I'm using a wire gauge. Cause, I have it and it has the notches to stratin the end of the plug. Have a feeler gauge but it got wet and rusted. Good excuse to buy a new one:2thumbs:

Good point RC, guess I just through out the "points" thing!!

Probably not many here running bikes with points anymore. Maybe chucktx 65 Pan that I want!

I saved my dwell meter just in case they make a comeback.

Wire for the plugs due to tendency of a feeler of bending the electrode at an angle creating a incorect gap.

Either will work for it is not like a precission interferance fit is required, but the wire is more accurate and designed for such.

Also those little disc made by some of the manufactures, called a taper disc are better than a flat feeler due to having a taper edge, still wire is the proper and prefered.
