Need some help with forward controls info

Hi, On my 2004 pitbull the forward controls connect to a block that is mounted to the underside of the frame. Now here is what i dont understand lol If i want to shorten up do i have to get new controls or do i need to get a shorter block and keep the same controls. If there is anyone out there that knows about this i would like to talk to you a lil and go over a few things. I raced motocross for years and just bought my pitbull so this is all new to me. Just dont wanna wreck or spend money i dont need to spand. If you like i could call you and make this a lot faster lol. Thanks guys

The block up front is the motor mount. Does your Pit already have extended controls? If so then you can probably find or swap out your extension with someone that has the stock unit.

Check the BD website, can't remember if they offer an even shorter set up for the controls. If you get to short then you run into interference problems with the exhaust and the master cylinder.

If you can post a pic of your forward control on the brake side someone here can tell you if you have the extensions on it already then you can ask if anyone wants to swap out.

Here are the controls i have on the bike with a pic of the extra stock parts he gave me when i bought the bike. I have a receipt that he had 2 1/2" longer controls put on. I would like to find someone that wants longer ones and would trade me for there stock controls. Thanks for the photo uploading info

He said that he wasnt sure if that was all the parts. I am not sure if it is either lol. If you look at the pic with the parts is that for both sides? Will that shorten up both sides like 2 1/2 inches? If someone would let me know if and how that will work. If you want i can also call you to go over it if you know how to explain to me how to do this thanks Kevin

The only thing missing in the above pictures is the shift rod. You will need that if you change out. It's about 2 1/2" difference.

Did that model come with a whole new rod or just an extension?

BD: Look at your shift rod and see if it has an extension screwed onto it. If your not sure take a pic of both ends and post them!

if finding shorter controls is too much of a hassle, you can always get someone like seatmaker or beezachoppa to add to the back of the seat creating a push seat and thereby moving you a little (couple inches) farther forward. but, you may run into the additional situation of the bars not fitting you quite right. good luck.

So from the parts pic i have posted above i should have every thing i need to shorten up both sides? If someone could let me know before i tear into this i would hate to not have everything i need to get er done before the 4th. Also Hippy wants to buy the right side and im not sure what its worth lol Any guy named hippy has to be a cool guy so i want to give him a good deal whats the right side worth anyone know fair market for used controls? Well i went out to the garage and got after it. The left side was easy pulled em back no problem, All i have to do is shorten the shift linkage but that wont be hard. Now on to the ride side. I see why Hippy wants that right side lol I could get them on but they would hit the mudustas pipes so i had to fab the right side plate but after about 2 hours i got it on and enough space to not have to worry about it hitting my pipes now. Thanks for all the help i was just worried about fucking up my new toy lol

It comes with a new longer shift rod. I have my original one if anyone needs it. I had my extended one chromed as well as other pieces.
