My dog is leaking gas out of carb hose when it sets for awhile. Also when riding about 2000 rpms and hit the gas it sometimes hickups through the aircleaner

What do you think jets or something else anyone have or had this problem.

Are you turning the gas off via the petcock or are you leaving it on all of the time? Sometimes dirt will find its way between the needle and seat and cause it to to run out onto the floor via the overflow hose. Its alway a good idea to turn the gas off each time you stop, that way if that happens it doesn't make a smelly mess in your garage or flood your engine and dilute your oil. As for the hiccup through the air cleaner, that usually means a lean condition. You need to look in the how-to section on how to tune your carb and that will put you on the right track.....
Good Luck

jetting problem for sure

drop the bowl, get it cleaned up, pull your jets and make sure there is no debris clogging them....this should take care of the gas leaking

after that, if it is still popping through the carb, you will need to adjust jet sizing

Bigger Jets are not always the answer and in most cases make bikes run too rich, foul plugs, gas wash cylinders, and destroy decent fuel mileage. Check your jet sizes and make sure they are within reason. If your carb in not tuned correctly you can throw all the jets in the world at it and still miss-tuned. I hardly ever buy jets, I purchased a set of jet drills and I usually resize them a step at a time. Since you state you have a hiccup at speed could indicate the transition between the low speed & intermediate jet, do a little homework and tap into the How-To section and save yourself some money & future headaches......

Read through the how too's.

Should be able to just pull the bowl to do what you need.

I had this happen on another bike and was able to get everything cleaned up and I used a high pressure air nozzle to blow through the jets.

Back together and good to go.

Mark,
I had the exact same problem(s). I removed the carb ('07 Mastiff) -- it was perfectly clean. I just turn the petcock off every single time -- that stops that problem. Next hickup through carb. Mine does it every so often. I think the carb adj will do it -- just need to make a small adjustment, ride it a bit and then slight adjust until you nail it down. My thoughts anyway.
Steve.
