Ok, rebuilt the mc, finally got most of the air out and have a fair amount of tension from the lever. I go out in the hood and hear a locust sound like you here in the evening here in the south every time I squeeze the lever and do not get very good braking and no where near the ability to lock up the wheel. Any ideas about my bugs...lol:loony:

Well, if you got most of the air out is not going get it, you need to get all of the bubbles out and make sure the reservoir is full. The locust sound me be that you have something (small stone or dirt) caught between the disk and the brake pad or the alignment on you caliper is off or maybe you need new brake pads.

I have a set of new brake pads for a 2006 mastiff, that I decided not to use because I bought the Lyndell Racing brake pads. I have no use for them. If they fit you bike and you think it will help, you are welcome to them if you PM me your address.

Thanks Carlos,
I just put new pads on but the ones my dealer sold me are from some other country, but are suppose to be the correct match for the bike.
Anyone know if the 06 Mastiff will work on the 04 Pitbull?

I wish I had more money.
Maybe something isn't tight enough. I did mine a whild back and found that I didn't tighten the part down with the brass or copper washer wasn't quite tight enough. Check check and recheck.

My 06 K9 has and still makes that same sound-it has since the day it rolled off the showroom floor.:confused:
But it has never given my any problems in over 23,000 miles.

Mine too, makes the same buzzing sound, I was told it's because we have a big caliper on the drilled rotors and the holes make the sound, brakes (for single side) sure work well though!!

if it just makes the noise when you apply the brakes, that's normal because of the drilled holes. no stopping power is because of air in the lines. did you use DOT 5 brake fluid?

Yes, It is DOT 5. It never made this noise before. Did not make this noise a month ago when I put the new pads on. Seems to have started with the mc rebuild and the DOT 5 fluid.

?????????? mine has made that noise (if it is the same noise) since the day i bought it 8000 miles ago. ?????

more noticeable coming from the front because you are riding into the noise but the back also makes the noise.

WTF is going on...lol????? Noise is gone and front brake has a varying amount of braking. Some times lots of lever pressure and then boom....almost none till I pump them back up. Must be air getting in the system.....but no fluid leaks????

fill the reservoir while its level then close it.
pump up the brake then wire tie the lever.
let it sit overnight.
should get the last bit of air out.
