Lost the only key to the dog I had left today. Guess I need to call the factory tomorrow and get a couple sent asap.
If anyone there on Douglas knows who picked the ignition switch for our bikes (2004), please kick him in the fucking balls for me!

I have 4 keys for my scoot, I was down to one because they always get misplaced but they seem to show back up, needless to say buy extras, I have an extra hidden on the bike now.

Yep, always keep one under the seat myself. Problem is that was my back up I lost. New ones on the way tomorrow.
Thanks

I have a 04 also. I lost keys by falling out. I then put in a new switch from BDM cause they fixed the problem with these switches. I think it was about $75 bucks and it comes with 2 keys. Key is solid in the switch now. Your wasting your time if you just get new keys without getting the switch.

I am going to do the d-ring key chain to the plug wire thing. That way it won't happen again. This is based on the cost of the 2 keys of course.

This topic has been well covered here......should no longer be a surprise. I lost my key one night when the dog was 6 months old. BDM did send me a new version switch.....none the less....I don't trust it. I also looked into replacing the stock switch with another brand/configuration, but nothing else would fit. As I remember, there were only about 20 key numbers, a simple on-off switch is about as effective. We need a remote switch. I'll bet we've got the talent here to come up with a better solution.
