Kinda overwhelming, Soldiers (probabley mostly young) that never made it home. Families out there that never saw the final resting place of their child, brother or sister, etc. The men and women soldiers of the USA have saved a lot of foreiners over the last 100 years and they get a lot of flack about it. The foreiners have forgotten where they would be without the forenier to them (an American) that came to the rescue. Very, very disheartning. :(

Honestly... the 'news' networks today never mentioned this on Memorial day. Appearantly they could not find the time.

The text books when I went through school never documented the sacrifice that all these sons and daughters made...

How significant that the US has given over 100 thousand lives to nurture and preserve liberty across Europe and NO ONE celebrates or recognizes that fact here in the States... Of course we were taught of D-Day and the battle of Normandy and those who rest there... but all the rest of these memorials...

I am simply humbled by these pictures... I never knew...

THANKS TO ALL :flag:

on a footnote, the 104,000+ number is only those buried abroad. wikipedia states over 404,000 U.S. soldiers died in WWII. let's not under-count those who sacrificed all.

I agree! Not to mention Korea 36,000+, and Vietnam 56000+.

God Bless all who served, are serving, or are going to serve, and those who support them!

Great post!!! Those that paid the ultimate sacrific deserve never to be forgotten. A wise man once said "those that fail to study history are bound to repeat it". Appears to me, we've got quiet a few folks in Washington that need a good history lesson!!!!

If it wouldn't have reached here I would have said fuck em. Thanks to all the Americans that didn't. Mr. Obama does not represent my version of America.
