Big Radius Dragging on Right Turns

BDM had the heat shields completely redesigned at the beginning of 2007. Not only did they modify the lower part to minimize dragging, but they also changed the way the heat shield wraps around the back pipe up where it exits the rear cylindar. There had been some examples of the rear pipe getting so hot it bubbled the paint on the battery cover.

HOAT, you still hold the record for "best Big Dog Action Shot" with that pic from the Dragon.

This is the first time, though, that I noticed you have scrape marks on the FRAME as well as the pipes. Now that takes some real LEAN!

Damn Hoat !!!! Bet riding behind you at night is a blast. Probably wouldn't even need a headlight in the turns .... I could just follow the sparks.
The only way to keep up with HOAT is to put him on a HONDA! :whoop:

(...tongue-in-cheek reference to a GREAT ride we had when Ambassador Hoat visited Seattle, and he borrowed a Honda to ride with us up to Mt. Rainier! :D )

You know that was killing me!!!! that 99 honda had 2500 miles on it when I got it and had 3000 when I gave it back and I only road it twice!

Thanks for all of the replies guys. I decided to switch them out. Found a pair of Yaffe Phantom's on ebay for a great price. Pratically stole them. We'll see how they match up.

Hoat, killer shot on the dragon! Your bike looks sick!!!

Who sez you can't lean a Big Dog with that 300 mm tire??

Another great shot, Hoat!

I gotta say, the first time I drug my pegs it did come as a bit of a shock!

My Mean Mothers on my Ridgeback scrape once in a great while. I think any of us riders that have ridden sport bikes will scrape on the Dogs no matter what pipes are on them.

I scraped the left peg on my 2004 Ridgeback 1/2 mile down the road the very first time on the bike. Went around the first curve and found out how far it would lean!

I got the big rads on my heritage and I scrape them all the time - i scrape the foot boards as well - on my dog I got AN Smoothness (not for too much longer though) and I scrape them as well - and the footpegs sometimes - particularly on roundabouts

I didn't think I was riding it correctly if I wasn't scapin peg and pipes. LOL My Ridgeback has BR on it and I have scaped them a few times. I came off of my VTX and was scaping pegs on it all the time. Slow down??? I thought there was only two speeds. Stop and wide open. LOL I guess I ride my dog to hard. But she seems to like it. I love this bike.I have gotten so used to the handling on my Ridgeback that when I get back on my VTX I can barely ride the damn thing.

My foot pegs are all scrapped too... but not the BR... I even had to buy Passenger Peg Riser for my BR as they are higher (than others?)....
