You are absolutely correct about there junk however believe it or not this gage unit is pretty well made. Worst case is the gage fails but its a standard size so easily replaceable.

FINALLY got around to getting it all to gether. Runs good, looks good (to me at least). Used "stubby" version of the sending unit.

Being longer than the "standard" length rider, I put it on the forward pair of bolts, and I can actually see it while riding!

They call me Slow Vince for good reason...

any close ups of the top pic? I'm interested in the parts you used for your guage setup. Is it mounted to where the sender normally is or the tappet screen?

HMmmm? I was talking to the boys at S&S a couple years ago about my oil pressure guage and was told to "NOT" pay any attention to what the guage says. "The guages are inaccurate and only go by the idiot light." I had already put a guage on my 04 chopper so left it and have seen all kinds of erratic pressures including ZERO pressure at idle. Idiot light works but never comes on so according to S&S, I am fine. What will you do if your guage shows ZERO at idle on a hot day? Per S&S, if the idiot light isn't on, forget about it. "Just my 2 cents worth."

It's mounted where the sending unit is normally installed, but used 2-hole adaptor available from J&P (and other places).

The adaptor plug that would go in the tappet screen would not clear the pushrod blocks. Uh, I didn't say that very well, hope you can figure out what I'm talking about. sorry

I don't have any better pictures right now - I'm right in the middle of moving, all my stuff is in boxes somewhere...

Search for other pressure guage strings, RayWood has another way of using this adaptor, and part numbers...

"Reply to All" - this is NOT a "chinese looking POS" - the mounting plate is top notch, nicer than any other tin slabs I've seen on some bikes.

Another of my ROUND TUITS was the Ness telescopic kickstand. Got the lean angle just where I like it, and this one is also a REAL nice piece of gear. Order of magnitude better than the stock kickstand.

Why not just screw the gauge into the oil pump screen bolt? Got a chrome adapter and screwed the gauge right into it. Its out of the way and I can still see it.Thats what i did on my 2009 K-9. Just my 2 cents and it was economical too!!!
