Wire Plus & Jake

I've had in the past a whole lot of trouble with the EHC and was at one point even kickin' round the idea in getting rid of my bike. Ended up reading up on all of the Wire Plus that Jake was installing at his bike at the time waiting to read about another electrical disaster.

As time went on I read on about others that have done the switch out and figured it was time to dive in head first into it. I contacted Jake and the rest was pretty much history.:2thumbs:

For all that are a little reluctant in heading towards this type of work let me assure you that it was a piece of cake. I'm not one to deal with any type of electrical issues but even I felt that this was on that I would be able to tackle.

The directions were right on and was able to follow them all to the T.

I was a little confused at times, I went as far as emailing alhall and even calling Ray.

Anyway, the bike is back on the road up and running and I couldn't be any happier!

To some members the wiring would be done in a day but I took my time and had it completed in a week.

Here are some pics-

Wire Plus installed

Through the side

some of the wiring tied up- lots of longer wires. the harness bought was for an 04 chopper.

The bike been sitting here for almost a year:down:

The one thing that I did different that I didn't take a picture of was the new ignition switck, just like Jakes but I didn't use the set screws like he did. I just grinded the cover down to where I was able to utilize the parts provided to hold the switch in place.

Thanks to Jake for helping me out with this and to all that had imput on my previous electrical problems. Hopefully this is the one and only fix.

Good to hear Oscar, I've got about 1200 miles on mine since the wire plus mod and so far so good and I even got caught in nice downpour and never skipped a beat.

Atta boy Oscar, glad it all work out for you. Hopefully soon we can get together for a ride to put that module to the test.

p.s. Gotta say that you folks here on the forum are a bad influence:cheers:

On my ride home on Saturday from N.O. BikeFest I was riding my metric like I stole it.  I bet a few folks were looking to see if NOPD was on my tail.

I took the task of doing it myself only to secrew things up a little, I had running lights ONLY and nothing else. I pulled out the whole dang harness and sent it to Jake. He went over it found my problem and sent it back. I just got done re-installing it on my bike and everything works again like it did before, except there is no EHC to worry about. Mucho Grass Jake for your help :whoop:

Again thanks Jake for helping me out with the Wire Plus, things couldn't be better. I appreciate your prompt service and attention to detail.

Damn Oscar - I don't want to hear that. I am just about done with my Wire-Plus install. I am hoping it cures all of the demons.

Good Luck with yours - hope you get it back running soon.

So what's going on?
Don't know!?

It's been raining here and haven't had a chance to mess with it.

I know it was running a couple of days ago and now the thunderheart ing. mod won't even turn red. It's a brand new unit so I know it works.

What's the difficulty level of changing out a cam sensor?
