FREEDOM!!!
Hi, I have a 2004 Ridgeback with a rear mount 18" sissy bar, pad, and luggage rack in what looks like perfect condition. Just took it off. Looking to trade/buy a 12" sissy bar. Also looking for a 4" chrome velocity stack with screen etc to replace the stock setup. Thanks!

you sure you want to put a vel. stack on ? lets a lot of debris, ie sand, straight into the cylinders with a lot of damage to be expected. yes they look good but not too healthy.

I could be wrong but I thought I saw these kits new with a screen and sock? or something that would act as an air filter. Am I off base on this one? I have a 4" Velocity Stack on my 81 shovelhead chopper on the SU carb but I did have to fabricate a type of screen/filter for it. It does look cool though.

IMHO vel. stacks are best left for the drag strip. without an actual filter, flirting with disaster. socks and screens work fine for the big stuff but not the little shit. don't get me wrong, they look good. but i live at the beach with lots of sand all the time. i know what it feels like hitting me in the face and i wouldn't want to put it inside my motor.

Damn good point! I'm here on LI NY and beaches are a part of the landscape. Plus on the Expressway every day is Sand Tractor Trailer day. I still will probably go for it but I'll leave the S&S Air Cleaner on most of the time. It's a 2 minute swap if I want to run a stack for a short time. Thanks for the common sense check!
