Just Broke Front Piston

Just got done boarscoping my 107. SO PISSED

1/4 inch piece is missing on the top of the front piston. I had some serious blow by last night on my ride with some buddies. Bike died and when I got off the bike the oil tank and back wheel had oil on it. I started the bike and rode it home nice at 2K and babied it.
I just got done boarscoping it and theres a piece cracked off the top of the piston.
21K and a S&S should not fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This sucks dont sound good at all. When there is a separation of material from the crown of the piston we call it de-bonding. Did you get to look at the cylinder liner and bottom of the head from the borescope? Hope you get back on the road soon!

you could go this route and fix yours also. Hope you don't have to rebuild the bottom end also you might if you got shit in the lower end.

Sorry to see that happen. It is good that your cylinders are OK. Most of the time (my experience) when you have broken rings or piston you are going to have scared up cylinder walls, especially if you run the motor for any length of time.

Just to be on the safe side I would at least have the cylinders honed. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
