Sissy bar q

I've got an 05' Ridgeback and I didn't install the sissy bar that is on it. I want to take it off and was wondering if it's just 2 bolts to take it off or not. It looks like the sissy bar runs inside the strut and through the tail lamp assembly.

Above is the picture of the bolt i'm asking about. Is that the only fasterner to loosen so i can pull off the sisy bar? Obviously one on each side. Also curious to if this is going to pull out the tail lamp assembly wire?

Thanks in advance,

Should look like this - the bar goes straight down through the strut, and the bolt coming up from the bottom holds it in place.

This picture shows two of the plugs resting on top of the strut. If you remove the sissy bar, you can just slip the plugs back into the holes and bolt them up from the bottom.

By the way, they now have a slightly modified system. The bottom end of the sissy bar is tapered, and slips into a tapered sleeve that expands when the bolt from below is tightened up. That ensures the sissy bar is held tight in the hole - something we can all appreciate. :D

I'm not sure if the rigids are exactly like my 04 chopper or not (which also goes in from the rear) but they use a double set screw on each side. Don't try to pull the bar without removing all 4 set screws.

Thx for the replies guys but I'm stuck scratching my head on something that seems like it should be really simple.
This bike had struts put on it with the sissy bar and your right it's taking it in the arse and not straight down into the struts.

I backed out the 2 bolts (one on each side in picture i posted above) but the sissy bar is still connected like concrete. I took a mallet and some towels and tried to jar it loose on each side with zero luck. I can't see any other fasteners to release this thing and I hate to start getting more physical with it without at least seeing if any of you have any other suggestions before I drink a 6pk and start manhandling this thing. (joking)

Not sure how to take it out, but i'm looking for a sissy bar for a 2005 pitbull. Are you parting with yours, or just taking it off for the meantime?

maybe try spraying some liquid co2 at the joint. it might shrink the sissy bar enough break it loose. or maybe some pb blaster/ penetrating oil.
