New Tires

Well I'm taking the dog in for new tires tomorrow. I couldn't find a 300 to match the one I'm taking off, so I ended up ordering a new front also. They are the Avon Cobra's 300/35/R18 and the MH90-21. Plus I'm finally going to put in DYNA beads from Low Down Chop Shop that I ordered awhile back. I have just over 11K on the tires and the back is already past the wear bars.
How many miles have you gone before needing a new rear tire?

18K on Rear

The factory mounted my front tire bass acwards so 8k on the 1st

Take it easy for the first 50 miles or so until you wear the mold releasing compound off the tire

Just over 6000 & I'm already at the wear marks. I'm gonna try to make it to 7500 before I have to change it, so it can be done during the next service.
What model of Avon is that? Is the price any different then the original type Avon's?

I got the Cobras through Bikebandit.com and joined the AMA for an additional 10% off. I don't know about the price comparison, but I think the rear was around $225 after discounts.

I changed mine today at Iron Lightning in Tulsa (excellant dealer ,had a good chat with everyone ) Had 12,000 on them . Probably could have gone another year but why wait for a problem. Thought i was getting Cobras all around but got a Venom on the front and Cobra on the rear. $530.00

Yea I could have waited awhile also, but I'm with you, why wait for a problem. Sounds like you got a good deal. Did you have them change your wheel bearings? I heard they're suppose be changed every 10K miles. Seems wierd :loony: , but what do I know??

Saturdays the day to pick up my Dog with her new Cobras. I had to drop her off a shop about 100 miles away on Thursday and get a ride home. I'll post some more data about the tires and ride tomorrow night. I can't wait to get on with some road trips!!
