Rob, the more you cut-the less you have for artwork. Can't have both, unfortunatly.
Big House, I could match your original factory paint. After all, I designed that paint job. No problem-Don't worry. Git-r-done!!!

Reach out to Ron from Vision, he is a member here on the site. He does magic with metal.....check this out all from stock tins – All painted it is mesmerizing, your curiosity get the better of you is this a 3D fender or a paint job illusion….

If it was mine to do, I would seriously look at mounting the fender from the swingarm so you can get the clearance down to that of a hardtail. And then modify the seat so it mounts strictly to the frame (might require a different seat pan to have clearance on the moving rear fender).

Anyway, just my thoughts,
Richard

Changing struts?

Does anyone know if I can run shorter struts from any other models so that I could do a shorter rear fender? I have a 05 bulldog and want something that shows the tire a little more, I noticed that the struts from a chopper look shorter, but I am not sure if they will work.

I would imagine that if you get struts from another bike that has the same frame as you then they should work as long as you have clearances which shouldn't be an issue either. May have to do paint over though.

Ray, how do I know if I have an RT or a DT frame?

I was thinking about doing the same thing. I was going to shorten mine up. but I would also have to custom fab some struts to mount the rear lights. Just enough fender to have the seat back covered.

Go too short and all the crap from the road hits ya in the back. Not very nice in the rain or on our sandy Fl. roads. Just something to think about...
