Well I was on a nice ride with a group yesterday we were rolling on our 200th mile about 60+ MPH when I heard a bang and immediately went into a rear tire skid. I was able to keep the bike up and ride it out left like a 200 foot skid mark in the rode. The other bikes were going around me trying not to hit me and praying that I didnt go down. They thought for sure I was going down. Something in the trans broke, I think; I changed the fluid again the other day for the second time in 3500 miles, it was Redline , but it looked like grey line when it came out, made me wonder why, I think I know now -something was wrong internally. The bike locked up and would not free up. What a messed up feeling to think 50 miles earlier I went on a nice roll on up to about 110 MPH before coasting back down to 65 MPH. I dont know what broke , but I know I need a new tire, belt, trans and whatever else that lock up jared loose. What a day, but it could have been worse. :(

Good to see your ok! Sounds like you had a bearing failure. This should of raised a red flag when your oil went from red oil to gray oil.

Glad you were able to maintain control, quite a feat of riding skill! :2thumbs: I will use this as a lesson to pay closer attention to what's coming out of the bike when I change fluids!

Well I fortunately purchased an extended warranty. I am getting it fixed. I have been looking at a street glide, but still like the style and ride of my Mastiff.

I wish I had more money.
That is weird though. Isn't the clutch between the tranny and the drive? I guess it stalled the motor ?

First I am glad you are alright....
What gear were you in?
I was passing a car last week on mine and it locked up or was jumping in and out of gear in 3rd is why I asked. It is at Baker now being investigated. It just got it back from BDM where they did the repairs over the winter for the same issue. It lasted about 300 miles before it failed again...Got off the interstate and took the backroads on the way back and blammm.......
Keep a smile on your face bro....:D
