Out riding today/tonight. 3 times this bitch came loose on me. Yes I have added XOPRODOX spiked gunner grips. Throttle works fine other than feeling a bit loose but have had it explained to me thats normal. If I tighten it too tight, it binds the throttle grip up. Too loose and the whole lever assembly, mirror and all becomes my throttle...just used blue loctite on the set screw...what am I missing? Thanks in advance...

Yes sir Chris, I follow your how to's like a bible. When I tighten the set screw, it off sets or cocks the grip (he said COCKS) to the point where it binds on the bars. I have had this thing apart many times. Im pretty good with a wrench. The dog is all new to me, thats all.

I just removed my right hand controls to fix my brake light switch issue. The plunger from the circuit board wasnt seated deep enough and the magnet wasnt activating the brake lights. Upon re-installing, the throttle wasnt returning. After screwing with it for a few minutes I figured out that the throttle grip was binding. The binding was due to the grip not being in the proper channel. In other words, the grip was pushed in too far. This also caused the set screw to not being seated in the correct spot.

Just a little tidbit of what happened to me.. The good news is everything appears to be fixed now (start now ; wont start later)..going out riding..woohooo..

Ok. There must be a sweet spot on these bars. I went out to my shop. Leaned on them REAL HARD. Couldnt push it down but when I twisted up, I loosened it up again. I started tightening, and was afraid I was gonna break the allen wrench and it didnt cock the throttle grip one bit. Off to the Musicic As A Weapon Tour in Reading Pa. SWEET. Thanks guys.
