lights on tach blink at idle

all the lights on my tach will blink when not moving at idle. anybody know what that means.

Below 500 RPM's they will blink like that, idle it up or it may be 1000 but either way if you idle it up this will stop

Read your owners manual. That is correct, if your idle is to low when the engine is hot the oil pressure can be to low and cause damage. Mine blinks when it's cold and not hot. That is fine.

The old white faced speedo's have been replaced by a black faced one. I had a blue light that lits up nicely at night.

Lot of issues with them. I'm on my 10th speedo now. Up until they go the black faced one going it was a real pain. Seems if you got a good one then great but most failed I think from vibration. BD changed the mount of the handlebars to a wide mount to absorb more vibration. Seems the soldered wires with in the speedo were breaking loose.
Other things included power up problems at starting and they have them licked now too.

Of course now they are coming out with another unit that is on the new Wolf and it should be available to us soon.

I turned up my idle and the lights quit blinking. The bike seems to run better. Porbably just me:2thumbs:

No worries! I still have a White face unit and no problems. Almost 9000 miles.:2thumbs:

If you had gotten a bad one, it would have shit already!

I already love the bike. Rides really nice. The guy I got it from was really on top of his maintenance. And said the bike never gave him any problems. It has less than 5000 miles on it with nothing major yet just spark plugs, fuse and battery:2thumbs:
