I have read on so many other threads about people discribing the lights on their ehcs. I can't see them. Does the 03 have lights on the damn thing?

If it looks like this it does.

The 10 white dots center and to the right.

Normally when the run button is pushed you get one light to come on towards the far right before you start it.

No Mike. No lights on our 03s.

There are a couple lights on our start control modules under our seat buy that's it.

Sorry, Oscar, can't see pics from work but when I had mine apart, I didn't see any lights, only sockets for plugs to go into.

They are good connectors so at a minumum I would at least pull all the connectors and fill them with die-electric grease.

Ray i take you're word as gospel. I was just wondering what the dealer would think if i had to have some electrical work done and i had shrink tube on all the connectors ,Thanks :2thumbs:

In that case it would be a pain for them and they most likely wouldn't return it to you as was. I shrunk wrapped a bunch of mine just to protect the little wires like under the tank. Gives them a second layer of wear so to speak.

But they are good connectors if you don't mess them up as I did with a couple of mine!

FUCK THE DEALER!!! If you ever have a brain fart and take it in, knowing they have to get into it... just tell them... you sealed them up. But then realize, they probably won't return the favor and reseal them for you.

Roger.
I put a new e in yesterday. Put dielectric silicone in all of the plugs and Will shrink wrap them all today. I didn't mind the no blinkers really. It was the no brake light that bugged me. And even the brake didn't bother me while I was by myself but if the wifey were to have been with me then I would be trippn. Or even riding with a group. Not so good. I am getting excited though. I have a few new guys here to ride with. BONUS. By the way I forgot what the LDO stand for. Can you refresh my memory. Sorry for the long windedness. I have the cabin fever. I have been off work for a few days.

Glad to hear you got her running right!

A Limited Duty Officer (LDO) is an officer in the United States Navy or Marine Corps who was selected for commissioning based on his skill and expertise, and is not required to have a bachelor's degree. They are used in situations where it is desirable to have an officer with strong, specific deckplate-level technical knowledge.

LDOs are technical officer managers. They are experts and leaders in the technical specialty enlisted rates from which they came.

The term "Limited Duty" refers not to an LDO's authority, but rather the LDO's career progression and restrictions. Historically an LDO, prior to World War II, could only advance as far as lieutenant. LDOs in a few communities could rise to Lieutenant Colonel.

LDO/CWO motto is "sursum ab ordine" which means "up from the ranks" to underline a distinction between them and officers commissioned directly from college.

How's THAT for long winded! :2thumbs: :flag:

That's a great description LDO. Kinda like some of us in civilian life that worked our way up from the low man to a lesser of a low man. or would the proper term be... a greater low man... hmmm....

Thats kewl. I wish the Army had a program like that. No degree no commission. As far as I know anyway. After I found out that it was required you be a duesch bag to be an officer. I wasn't interested anymore. Ha Ha. I could have gone for the warrant officer school though.

Here's a shorter, more practical definition:

"A Limited Duty Officer (similar to a Master Chief) is an extraordinarly skilled member of the armed forces who knows what they are talking about and can be trusted completely to do the right thing every time - and gererally a damn fine individual to boot."

Personally, I've never once met one for whom I did not have the utmost respect.

Thanks P8!

Mikie,
the Army's Warrant Officers get to fly. That's bad-ass in my book.
