i am wondering if when you guys speak of these manuals you are talkin about the one that comes with the bike?
when i think of a manual i am thinkin about like a CHILTONS manual on say my 4th generation camaro, and it breaks down all sections of cars and explains procedures onto which to fix the vehicle.....does any of the manuals available for 2007 chopper read out like that???and if so where do i get the 2007 chopper manual??????????

i hear all this but after reading the post about THE SHREDDED BELT as he was attempting to fix the issue he kept referring to the fact that the manual was of no help to him and SHOVEL was givin him links from harley to fix his BIG DOG so this is why i ponder the cost verses is the manual really worth it if it doesnt supply that much information...like lets say i want to adjust my rear tire so its trackin correctly and the belt wont whine...can i turn to a specific section and its gonna explain step by step instructions to fix the issue???????or does it show you how to change out your brakes, change your fork oil ect ect ect....

Jim, the bdm manual does lack in many ways. Without that fact, why else would I make so many how to's. That being said, I don't know how some do without. Some of the info in there is just so needed. So much so, that you haven't seen me sell mine yet, even though I got rid of the dog, have you? No cause I work on dogs anyway and figure it will be worth just holding onto it.

Further, I have since bought a service manual for each of my hogs to join the bdm manual.

I wish we had a manual like Chiltons... That would walk you through every procedure... But we don't... The BDM is close to useless....
Thanks to GasMan & a few others around here you can get by...

My manuals that i bought for my past HD's were great... Showed you everything from taking apart to putting back together......

I have a downloaded pdf manual for my last bike that I thought they offered for free so I never bought the physical copy. I guess this go 'round I should spring for the real deal since it doesn't seem to be available from BDM in an e version.
