Well, I was due for a new phone so after a lot of research and my last phone being a HTC Touch on the Sprint network I finally made my mind up.

I decided to go with the HTC Touch Pro. Has a lot of business applications in it including a business card scanner that takes a pic of a business card and translates all the info on it into your contacts!:2thumbs:

But the best part of this phone is that is has a accelerometer built in. It is mainly used to sense when the phone is tilted to change the screen like an iPhone from vertical to horizontal. But a company makes a program that I bought that calculates 0-60 time, 1/4 mile time, G-force, speed and Horsepower with the use of the built in GPS system.

Features:

  • Forward and lateral g forces measurements
  • Horsepower vehicle’s calculation using device's internal GPS receiver
  • Advanced processing methods of all calculated values, including g-forces (m/s^2), angles, GPS data and calculated horsepower (HP), while being saved to a proper log file by the user
  • 0 - 100 Km/h or 0 - 60 miles/h acceleration time calculations
  • Calculation of time and horsepower for 1/4 of mile acceleration times, while in dragster mode.
  • Log opportunity of any of the max horsepower, g-forces or angles values
  • Drawing 'circuit’ capability according to the longitude and latitude values measured by the internal GPS receiver
  • Speed and horsepower graphs utility using the appropriate user’s log files

You feed in the weight of the bike including rider, and a few other numbers and go for a ride. It works much like the other units that are sold through Jegs and Summit but this software cost me less than $15.:2thumbs:

Here are some screen shots, I'll let you know how it works over the next few days.

Whoa ... Jake ... what a cool phone ... I'm waiting for the HTC Touch Pro2 to come out ... I wish Verizon would of picked up on the Pro2 but looks like T-Mobile is getting the contract. :D :2thumbs:

I looked into the Touch Pro 2 as well until I found out that it is a bigger phone altogether with the same performance specs

The 2 has a better speaker phone for conference calls and some other software but the only real upgrade was a bigger, higher resolution display. I was caught up a bit on the size of the pro so i didn't want an even bigger phone.

The Pro is a awesome phone so far!
