:flag: I thought I'd never see the day when so many taxpaying, law abiding citizens would be denied our rights to ride and peacefully celebrate our hobbies. I have been riding since the early 60's and have owned many MC's,I honestly believed the discrimination put upon us many times in the past was in the past. I feel disgruntled, disappointed and frustrated,my son and I have been going to Myrtle Beach for years and always stay in nice respectable hotels-not cheap-and NEVER had a problem. We have always spent many hard earned bucks during our stay and really enjoyed it. God help us,we are going backwards! I have NEVER witnessed so much as an argument while there. well said woody. but at the end of the day, it has to be the local voters who get rid of these peckerheads if there is going to be a change. my guess is that many locals figure the area has outgrown the "biker crowd" and now they they can attact a more "upscale" visitor. time will tell.

I can tell you this, I live in Columbia, Sc and travel to Myrtle Beach working on a weekly basis. Myrtle Beach was already suffering financially before these ignorant decisions were made to not host bike week any more and the on top of not hosting they changed the city laws to make it so noone would want to even ride a bike through Myrtle Beach city limits. Look at Hard Rock Theme Park for instance, They have filed bankruptcy and the park is up for sale, Obviously they should have built another golf course there instead since it seems thats the only group the city wants to cater to these days!

FU*K EM !!! I am still going to Myrtle Beach because it is a great time and i want them to see how much money they lose out on this year from everyone staying out of the city limits. But the rubber on my bike will not touch the pavement inside the city limits !!! And i will not spend a dime inside the city limits.

hate to say it but it wasnt bike week in general and I know this is going to piss off some. It is the unofficial bike week in May that brought this on. I have friend who own places down there and while they enjoy the main rally they do not like the second unofficial one. There are to many wise asses who do way stupid things and a lot of the businesses used to shut down during it except the town told them they couldnt. You cant shut down one rally without messing with them all unfortunately. Someone will end up picking this up from somewhere north or south because it is a goldmine of money.

Well I just came back from myrtle today. While I was there i went to one of the local Harley dealers and talked to one of the employee's. They said that North Myrtle and south Myrtle is where most events are going to take place and have taken place in the past. He also told me that about 1000 bikers from the sturgis area are coming down.
Apparently from what he told me, it's not the Harley rally that people have a problem with it's the other one that follows. So, apparently the Town is caught between a rock and a hard place.
I think if certain bikers are causing problems, they themselves should be dealt with and not take it out on everyone else.
I'm going to go. I'm not letting them get the best of me or my good time.

My friends and I usually stay South of Myrtle Beach city, Garden City or Surfside. There are a lot of good places down that way. Both of the Suck Bang Blow's, Broken Spoke, Dead Dog and countless others. I definitely could spend all of my time down that way without ever entering the city. Just have to skip Broadway at the Beach and the few other things in the city limits! I am thinking that a lot of the vendors and businesses will regroup either north or south. There's too much money at stake for them to just give it up.

I also hear that most of this is as a result of the unofficial rally!
