I think if it was the gas cap the engine would stall - no fuel getting through at all.

I had that problem cleaned the peacock inspected the jets cleaned carb and no problems since. Could be bad gas. My Grandma said my Grandfather always had bad gas

Does it do it out of gear?

Finally had some time today to check things out. I started the bike and let it warm up and went out for a spin. Through all the gears it was still doing the same thing. Pulled over, put it in Neautral and twisted the throttle and the rpms climbed past 3k with no problem. So since I was out I decided to just drop it off at the shop. I should know something the next day or so. Any ideas?

I remember when I was riding sportbike that my bike whould accelerate fine then when I got up around 10,500 or so it fall on its face (redline around 14k) ended up finding out it was the voltage regulator that was bad. It wasn't suppling enough voltage to the CDI for the ignition that was needed at that given RPM. When I was stopped it would rev up to redline with no problems. Just throwing some suggestions out there.....Voltage Regulator/ Battery issue maybe? Interested in what the dealer finds!

Your problem sounds like the one that I had. If everything was fine prior to the install of your pipes, and the dealer put them on, they should be the ones to make it right. I did my own install so it was up to me to get it right.

They put the pipes on it the day I bought it. The problem just started. Im still under warranty so Im not stressing it.

I think it maybe a drive train problem due to that it will reach well over the 3k rpms in neautral but not in gear. Then again Im an electronic tech so I could be totally off.

I had this problem after switching to my stainless creations intake. I never did get it properly tuned out. Same exact symptoms, bike would pull hard up to about 3500 then it was like I hit the rev limiter. In neutral it would go right up to redline. You've already got it in the shop, but if they can't get it, try removing your stock air filter and see if the problem goes away. Also try going a little bigger on the low jet, I think 034 is the next size up. You may be running out of gas just before the high kicks in. Doesn't the accel pump only kick in at WOT? Also, why can't we start our bikes with the enricher on? I never heard about that?

without trying to jack the thread I use my enrichener when its real cold - my view is that if you turn off as soon as you can there shouldn't be a problem and if you have the right plugs and the right A/F set up any fouling should take care of itself when up to temperature.

Moe, remember I had the same problem! I drop my main back to the stock and she's running pretty good! Still rich!

You can all you want but all the new guys that think it's a choke and end up with fouling problems like this guy on this link.

That's a fouled motor from leaving the enrichener on forever!

Just use it to start the motor then shut it off and use your throttle lock (Cruise-Mate) to hold the rpm till the motor warms. You won't foul out your motor this way.

when I started modding mine I found the gas cap would no vent fast enough and run out of fuel try riding with the cap loose as a test. tape it so it wont fall off on the road also if you have split tanks loosen the left cap the crssover is too restrictive

Sorry for the delayed response. Got my dog back last week from the shop. First checked the plugs and they were fine. Jets were good. Tech took it for a ride and felt the clutch slipping. Adjusted that and was still having the symptoms. So then he pulled the carb apart and found that there was some trash and water in there. Drained the tank and cleaned everything up and now my baby is running like it should.:2thumbs: Tech seems to think I just got some bad fuel b/c everything checked out just fine.
