Wire Plus Module

EHC FREE!!!!
Got mine today. Not much time to install right now with year end crap at work. Not much documentation, but easy enough to figure out.

What is the best tool to crimp the plugs on? I have electrical pliers that have crimping notches on them. Anything else?

I have modules in route and have contacted the first couple guys in line. Don says he only has one left on the shelf after he sent mine out. I told him to put me some more on order for next week because these first ones shipped out will be gone soon.

PM me if your ready for one. 10% off of the $520 = $468 plus shipping of about $8.

Let me know, because someone may back out on one of these first ones that I have in. Otherwise if you want first come first serve on the ones coming next week, go ahead and purchase off my website with this code: bdbiker

Wire-Plus WP-374 Big Dog Module*-*Low Down Chop Shop

Barhopper,

I would say that anyone that has some good knowledge of how the Big Dog wiring is laid out, can read instructions and put them together with the BDM wiring diagram, will probably have 4-5 hours minimum into the install. So I would guess that a shop will charge anywhere form $200-$300 to install depending on shop rates.

If they are taking any longer than that or charging any more than that, line them up and I'll do them all day for $200 each!!! :2thumbs:

Keith S,

I would pick up a good set of Klein crimpers made for those terminals and don't use a $5 set! I would say you could buy a set for about $25. After crimping them touch them with a dab of solder as well.:2thumbs:

Well I hope to figure it out, the schematic they send you isn't that great. Looks like you have to pay close attention before you cut the EHC plug off, and remember every pin position that those wires came from because you then have to look up the pin number to get its identification. I bought a new main harness as well so I would be able to do most of it off the bike. Haven't looked into how the transition between the small big dog wires and much larger wire plus pins yet.

I got mine today and like Al says it doesn't look like a very easy job. I have a couple of months to figure this out. I'll just have to do one wire at a time. :2thumbs:

YES, one wire at a time is the ONLY way. TOO many wires of the same color. Do not cut the EHC plug off and try to figure each wire out, that will be a big no no.

I thought these were going to be a one piece unit. Mine looks like the prototype unit that jake installed. The only difference is the plugs are installed already. But it still is 2 seperate units.

Yea I got the same thing , But I guess this is it for now. I am going to get started on mine after the holidays, too busy right now with the usual shit that happens around this time of the year (IN LAWS)

Got my order in as well. Don says they stuck with the 2 separate units to allow more options for mounting. I am in the works, should have them done yet this weekend, with my diagram that I will be sending with my units as they go out.

Anyone that buys the module from me will not only get the wire-plus instructions, but also a nice full color diagram like what comes in the BDM manual that I reworked with the wire-plus module in place of the EHC. This can be put in your shop manual for future repair reference (which you'll never use again!!:D )

Hey there barhopper, Aaron qouted me about 3hrs @ $75.00 an hr shop time. Mine came as 2 units and the instructions from wire plus are a bit vague. I'll post some pics when I get my bike back.

Let me know what you final bill was for the install. I say if he can do it in three hours, DAMN that guy is fast !!!

Let us know if you got a surprise, because I figure most shops being at about 5 hours minimum.
