Actually this one, You cut out the old bung.
So you really don't worry about the paint or what ever.

This is much larger than the old hole.

Thanks staffy.
I ended up putting silicone over and under the gasket that came with it.
Then drilled and tightened the 8 nuts & bolts to.

Yes I get lucky alot.:2thumbs:

Shit, I got just the opposite problem Slinger (I didn't want to follow "shit" directly with your handel). I am about to modify a tank and would like to preserve that adapter ring if possible but I cannot figure out a nondestructive way to get that mofo out of there. Seems like it's kinda thin plastic and expoy'ed in real good. Any hints on how you got it out without detroying it?

Yea sure the pics look fine when your drinking but I can testify with Ray. They are downright painfull to look at with a hangover.

I think if everyone used the search feature prior to posting, there probably wouldn't be nothing to talk about. I find it interesting in how many ways the same project can be achieved. So keep on posting all except for when wondering what polish or oil to use. :2thumbs:

Actually I am an avid user of the search feature. Just to happened that in this case I was just cruising the site and got interested in a thread. Then that led me to the question that I asked.

When I come to site looking for info....... Yea I agree the search is the best way to go. But then again, if everyone used the search to the degree it caused the post count to drop, it would deaden site. And of course the same could be said of thread jacking which is sometimes a bit annoying but it does help to keep the site fresher.

PS Yes that "how to" by Kickstart is awesome. Very good info and it has lots of good pics for morons like me that can't be troubled to read the instructions.

Actually as I have pointed out before, the one single thing that I HATE about this forum is the search feature!!!

Three letter words DO NOT search. So that means when you put in gas cap in the search box, it finds nothing!!! Most Newbies would search for gas cap because they do not know to search for paint saver ring.

That is why we have 500 posts about gas caps and the saver!
