Gas tank mount

Gotta question about my rear rubber gas tank mount on my 'o6 Mastiff........I'm driving home yesterday and noticed I could pick the rear of my gas tank up and down about 1/2". When I got home I took the seat off and picked up on the tanksome more.....and with out much effort, the whole tank lifted out of it's rubber mount. How is this mount supposed to work? Is the bolt head that raised outta the rubber part supposed to be bonded into the rubber, like a motor mount or transmission mount? How hard is it to change???? Also, called the BDM shop and they have one for a 07 and 08 model. Does anyone know if this mount is the same as the 06??? Thanks for your help.

Did the rubber bushing turn out? Meaning is acts as a cam bolt. You align it with the frame and set the tank down then you turn the rubber bushing 90 degrees or perpendicular to the tank and it locks it it. Maybe it just vibrated loose. Spray some WD-40 on it and turn it back.

If it's broken then you need to replace it.

Does anyone by chance have a picture of this rear tank mount (tank off)?

My project K-9 is missing this part so I need to get one and know how it is attached to the frame. The tank is built for this kind of rear mount.

Thanks, Shovelcowboy

I have the same problem with my 06 K9 rear tank mount. Loose! Any pictures of this mount so I can see if mine looks the way it is supposed to?
