Hand Levers???

On the newer bikes, BDM has put on proprietary controls. Meaning, you can only use BDM stuff on them. Some companies make aftermarket pegs and levers but not many, therefore, they're somewhat pricey from what I gather (I have an 03
)
BDM used thicker bars so HD and aftermarket HD-type controls will not work.
As for pegs, I'm not sure it BDM changed the mounts but I'm pretty sure that it's proprietary stuff as well and you can't just change the pegs. If they changed the frame mounts, you won't be able to change the forward controls either!
If you do a search, you might find threads relating to aftermarket pegs/grips. Also, you can contact our supporting venders to see what's available as well.

I understand about the thicker bars and pegs and grips and such, what I was asking was what exactly about the levers was different? Could they be drilled or modified or whatever to make them work at a lesser cost?

I'm don't think anyone here has modified older HD levers to make them (upwards) compatible with the new controls. Sounds like it would take some work. Maybe someone else will chime in with suggestions.

ive checkd into levers . Big Dog did have some options listed last time i looked. the ones pictured at beginning of this thread (w holes) are similar to ones i want. Bigdog sells them for 199.00 bucks or so.check out accesories on Bigdog motorcycles website. ive changed my pegs to harley style using
Kuryakn (SP?) pegs and Bigdog adapters. i used Silletto style pegs.. hope this helps!

as for the grips well I was looking at the tribal ones.. no holes.. it matches everthing else on the bike.. I think BD needs to get their shit together and stark making these.. After all they make the lower levers and grips/pegs... whats so hard about making hand levers???

Hey chris those are nice but not what im looking for... and Deisel... Thanks for being the Guinea pig lol... let me know how things work out.. In the mean time im going to talk to a few people that run CNC machines that I know and see what they can do for me .... Maybe I can get a few tribal sets made.. Ill keep everyone informed if anything happens....

I can see a little diffrence off hand on the brake lever.
Our BDM lever for the brake has a small ball hole (very slight) for the piston shaft to sit in.
The HD one is a point.
If I did not just throw out my old 07 hd levers I would have looked them over for you to see the diffrences.
Sorry I can't help more.
But there are harley owners on this forum that may have a HD set.
But I believe the pull on the levers may be diffrent as well.
This is actually a good idea. If anyone has an old set of stockers they want to send me, I can compare them to these Knife Levers and see if my guy can do anything with them...
