Frame sliders for choppers?

Alright, this might be kinda border line a gay question. Do they make frame sliders for choppers. After thinking about it though they should be able to make some cool spike(or something) frame sliders that I would think not look too bad and maybe even good. I been down on my R1 and I didn't have any on my bike but wish I would have.

They aren't really needed on these bikes. For one, they aren't alum frames. Two, the frame isn't the widest spot on the bike. So like toomany said, other things usually protect the frame from major damage.

I'm thinking of Line-X coating my lower frame rails because I keep scraping the shit out of them on rough roads. Took off all of the paint on the right side the other day. Damn rough ass roads.

Not a bad idea... could look ok if done right. But do you really think it will help or that will just scrape off as well.

I didn't think these bikes were made for off roading or hill climbing? :D

I've been down some rough ass Michigan roads in my time, but none that the frame would scrape on!!!!

Last week I rode from New Orleans to Cabellas in Gonzalas, took interstate 10 the whole way there and back, I scraped the frame twice:angry: . bdm you would have to go off roading to scrape the frame on a Ridgeback. :D

Alright my question was more for if you lay your bike over. For example, frame sliders on a sportbike does a lot more than protect your frame. They protect your plastics another expensive item they protect is you exhaust, because they are in a few spots and they stick out enough to keep a lot of things from hitting the ground unless you bike rolls. Frame sliders on a sportbike will also protect foot pegs, grips and things like that. when foot pegs and grips cost about $200 each set on a chopper that starts adding up. Not to memtion exhaust and paint getting scraped the cost to replace that. Doesn't sound like they make anything like that for a chopper. I just thought some nicely done spike pieces I could deal with on my bike if it will help protect it in the long run.

I left a couple of things off the list that I posted earlier. I also ended up having the gas tank and the outer primary cover replaced when I laid my Harley down. Lots of pieces stick out on V-twin motorcycles, so you would need to have protective pieces sticking out pretty far, like engine guards. But I don't know if anyone has any sort of engine guards on a Big Dog.

Speak for yourself... my dog got bit by michigan roads last year.

To make sliders work on one of these bikes would take a lot. Sliders keep your plastics off the ground but your plastics make your bike slide flat.. A chopper not so much. They would have to be a foot long just to protect the primary.

Why the fuck would you want to put frame sliders on a Big Dog. You went the wrong way on the spectrum if you're looking for frame sliders.
